Register now for the fourteenth national forum for clinical research in critical care, emergency medicine and acute medicine (UKCCRF)!  This year’s event will be hosted by Dr Cathy McKenzie at The National Oceanography Centre, European Way, Southampton SO14 3ZH on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th January 2024.

The Forum is your opportunity to:

*         Present new study proposals

*         Provide/receive constructive peer review/feedback/mentorship

*         Update on “hot topics” in clinical trials

*         Network with peers and meet new collaborators

You will receive confirmation of your booking, by email, once your payment has cleared in our account. Along with your confirmation, you will receive the venue location map and a list of suggested hotels nearby.

Delegate's Dinner

We invite you to join us at the Delegates’ Dinner, which will take place on the evening of Thursday 18th January.  The evening will start at 19:30 with a wine reception followed by the Delegates at 20:00 which will be held in the  Ocean View Suite, National Oceanography Centre.  If you would like to attend, please indicate this on your Registration Form/online registration.  Please note that places are limited so register early to avoid disappointment.

Programme

The Forum will start at 09:00 on Thursday 18th January (registration from 08:30) and end at 16:30 on Friday 19th January.  Lunch and refreshments will be served on both days. Please note that this programme is provisional and is subject to change.



Presenting Study Proposals

As usual we will dedicate a high proportion of the time to presenting new study proposals with constructive peer review/feedback and provide an opportunity for investigators who wish to present updates on ongoing studies.

  • If you would like to present a new study, please complete the attached New Study Proposal Template, indicating in section 4 whether you would like to present a full proposal or an exploratory proposal.  Please send this to either This email address is being protected from spambots. Cancellations

If you need to cancel your place, a full refund will only be given if This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. is informed by email at least 7 days prior to the Forum.  No refund will be given to places cancelled less than 7 days prior to the Forum or to no shows on the day.

Research Working Group Meetings

Research working group meeting slots are available during the UKCCRF meeting. Chief Investigators for UK multicentre critical care trials may request a slot to allow networking with site PIs for their trials. Please email with the preferred time slot as stated in the programme.

Please also state the number of PIs who will come to your session for the purpose of room allocation.

Train

The train station is Southampton Central.

To get to the National Oceanography Centre, it is a:

  • 35 minutes walk
  • 8 minutes taxi ride
  • 26 minutes bus trip

Fly

The airport is Southampton Airport

A train service is available from Southampton Airport Parkway Station to Southampton Central.

A taxi directly to the National Oceanography Centre takes approximately 20 minutes.
