Plenary Lecture

Professor Sean Bagshaw

University of Alberta
Canada

Dr. Bagshaw is Professor of Critical Care Medicine, at the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, in Edmonton, Canada. He trained at the University of Calgary and the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

He has research expertise in clinical epidemiology, clinical trials, and health services research. His research focuses on acute kidney injury, vulnerable populations such as the frail and elderly, and how we organise critical care services. He is co-Chair of the multi-national STARRT-AKI trial.

We invite you to join us at the Delegates’ Social Event, which will take place on the evening of Tuesday 9th September at The Dome, 21-23 Quay Street, Manchester, M3 4AE .

The evening will start at 19:30 – 20:00 and will be held in The Dome, 21-23 Quay Street, Manchester, M3 4AE. Please note that the Social Event will be a more informal night and will not include a sit down dinner.   If you would like to attend, please indicate this on your Registration Form/online registration.  Please note that places will be limited so register early to avoid disappointment.

If you have any special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, any allergies…) and did not specify this on your Registration Form, please let me know by Tuesday 26th August at the latest.  If we do not receive your requirements by then, we may not be able to cater for them.

Additionally, if you have any mobility or special requirements, please inform us so that we can try to accommodate these at the venue.

Patient and Public Involvement Opportunity

Our UKCCRG Patient Representative, Jeremy Dearling, is offering the opportunity to meet with him during the Forum for suggestions and guidance regarding PPI elements to consider in your research.

Getting here:
The RNCM is located one mile south of Manchester City Centre, on the corner of Oxford Road and Booth Street West.

By Rail
The nearest train station is Manchester Oxford Road (0.5 miles). From there you can walk to the RNCM in 13
minutes or catch a southbound bus down Oxford Road.

Other train stations include:
Manchester Piccadilly (0.8 miles/20 minute walk)
Deansgate (0.9 miles/21 minute walk)
Manchester Victoria (1.5 miles/33 minute walk)

By Bus
There are frequent bus services from Manchester City Centre (Piccadilly Gardens) to Oxford Road and Booth
Street West.

By Road
Enter into your Sat Nav M13 9RD - 124 Oxford Road, Manchester. The quickest route will then be selected.

If you are travelling by car we recommend that you allow plenty of time for your journey. Please note that general
traffic along Oxford Road is no longer permitted to use the route between 6am and 9pm, seven days a week.
Visitors driving into and across the city centre will need to use alternative routes, such as Upper Brook Street and
Princess Street, rather than Oxford Road.

Parking 
Please note that there is no public car parking available at the RNCM on weekdays and Saturdays before 5pm.
Daytime visitors are advised to use nearby public car parks.

We have limited blue badge spaces within our surface car park that can be pre-booked by customers at

By Air
