Clinicians, researchers, academic institutions, professional groups, and national and regional research groups with critical care interest.
Our mission is to improve patient outcomes by developing new treatments, testing innovative ways to improve care delivery, and by identifying better ways to translate knowledge into practice.
We aim to provide an environment for multi-disciplinary critical care professionals and academics to share experience, develop new research, and encourage the wide-spread participation in research studies. We hold an annual conference and share research opportunities throughout the year. We are supported and hosted by the Intensive Care Society.
The first forum was a "trials forum" in Edinburgh 2008
The meeting evolved to encompass all kinds of research, not just trials, and began to be hosted by different groups across the UK
The annual meeting became the UKCCRF in association with the development of the UKCCRG, which was formally constituted
We entered a Memorandum of Understanding with the Intensive Care Society as our formal strategic partner and host to oversee our governance and finances
Our website went live, giving us a digital home and more opportunity to interact with our community
Members of the UKCCRG helped recruit patients into the RECOVERY trial which lead the world in the discovery of the efficacy of steroids for this disease
